Just got the drone and cannot rate the flying experience just yet. However, I can say the drone can pass as new in the original packaging and it was received earlier than the promise delivery date.

The media could not be loaded.  No dislikes from me! This thing is all around amazing, and fun! Looked new in new packaging, fairly simple to get it in the air first time, highest quality video and photo, and outstanding signal quality! Where I live is hard to make a phone call, much less get a GPS signal, but not for the Mavic Air! It receives signal and connects Fast and maintains that signal even 1.5 miles from my home(in VLOS), at 350ft. AGL! )

Everything is perfect about this little machine except the WIFI connection.. I am always loosing the signal which really drives me insane. Thanks for the auto return to home as it is always saving the drone from getting lost. Sadly, I am returning it and planning to wait for the new Mavic pro 2.

This is by far the best toy ever! I am 39 and I feel like i am 12 again. Did 2 days full of youtube training of learning how to fly this mavic air. Very easy to use. I am not a photographer or videographer but this thing has made me want to be both! Def recommend and buy 2 extra batteries and a minimum 64gig memory card.

I even use for work now to check on our buildings exterior and for very hard to reach areas where we need visual inspection.

Product arrived without propeller guards and without the MAVIC AIR In the box manual or the MAVIC AIR Quick start manual. Without the manual I do not know how to operate the drone so haven’t been able to fly it. Not happy

If you live in London, make sure you research where you can fly it because if you dont, you will be disappointed by the lack of opportunities to fly this beauty. Honestly, amazing price for what you’re getting. Super compact, easy to use but with bad flight time (maybe 15 minutes max).

Mixed review. I have not flown the drone yet, but the product feels very good quality and Dji have built a very simple, yet clever drone with great instructions & build quality.

    Reasons for only 3 stars:
    – Package was delivered with multiple bumps on the actual Dji package (AMAZON external cardboard package was fine) and there was even a rip in the Dji package underneath the cellophane. I would hope for better when handling a very expensive package.
    – Whilst the store lists the product as only coming with 1 battery, there are multiple other sources of information on the same listing that state you receive a total of 3 batteries. Firstly, there are 2 answers within the Q&A section which state you receive 3 batteries. These answers were posted within the last month, so why did i only receive 1 battery? Furthermore, there are multiple instances of individuals leaving reviews, stating they received 3 batteries? Surely these Q&A answers and reviews belong to a different listing, perhaps a fly more listing?

Easily my new found hobby.I didn’t realise how amazing these drones were until my friend brought his mavic pro to work,I was hooked.I decided to buy the mavic air and I am not disappointed.the quality of the camera and the different modes this mini machine can do is unreal.there is too much to list here but you will need extra batteries and they are not cheap, but the fun is endles.make no mistake, this is not a toy…it’s a tool for photographers and hobbyists…I’m hooked and now I find myself making lists of all the cool places I can this and get great shots…get one 😁

Some things about this are amazing – primarily it’s portability and ease of flying. Once you’ve got through the minor pain of setup, you can fly it around with ease.

Picture quality is so-so – it’s never that sharp and the colour depth isn’t great, but if you shoot RAW you can turn out OK pictures; nothing like SLR quality, but then you wouldn’t really expect that. JPEGs seem to generate reasonable colour but ridiculous over-sharpening, for me at least – don’t really use them.

Reliability is the big let down for me. That covers a few points:
    1) About 1 in 4 times when I fire up the controller, it just beeps repeatedly and loudly and won’t connect to drone (same alarm you get when the drone is running out of battery, but it isn’t). No obvious way to predict when this will happen, only solution is to keep turning it on and off and after maybe 3-5 mins it’ll just work. No clue why.
    2) Sometimes, the camera gimbal just sinks down to look at the ground, for no reason, and refuses to react to controls from the app except when you reset it – then it jumps up, and slowly falls back down. Return home, land, turn on and off a few times, and it normally works again – but you’ve just used half your battery charge. I’ve also never had it level – always tilts to one side, doesn’t seem fixable but I’ve not looked hard enough to know if it can be adjusted.
    3) I’ve never seen menu options for Tripod Mode or the fancy Panoramic shots (like the cool sphere view I’d love to do). Just not there, no indication of why or how to get them.
    4) I have never had a geotagged location attached to any picture taken with it, JPEG or RAW. Again, no indication why or how to make this work; the GPS is clearly working when I fly, just won’t write to images.
    5) After a modest 72 flights over 6 months or so, it just stopped working – I flew it fine, packed it away, drove somewhere, pulled it out again 2 hours later, no joy. Claimed processor was overheating, it turns out because of fan failure – a problem many many people have had (search their forums), but DJI refused to fix under warranty because there was some dust inside the case. It turns out you may not fly the drone anywhere with dust, without voiding the warranty – good luck with that…

The warranty not only states that you can’t fly near dust, but it also says you can’t fly if there are any “foreign bodies” inside the case (sand, oil, water, etc) – which appears sensible, but as it’s a closed case, and opening it to check / clean would void the warranty, in reality it seems more like a way to avoid honouring the warranty, should they choose.

I can’t say if other drone manufacturers are the same – maybe they are. Having a working drone is better than not having a drone, for me, and I enjoy using it when I can, but I really don’t enjoy the repeated problems, so…
